Refugee Doctor's Mentoring Project

The Migrant and Refugee Communities Forum (MRCF) has received funding from Capital Volunteering to set up and deliver and exciting new mentoring project. MRCF will provide a mentoring scheme for forced migrants who are using statutory mental health services. Mentors will be recruited from the MRCF Refugee Doctors Programme. CSIP Publication - Mental Health Destitution and Asylum Seekers

CSIP South East and South of England Refugee and Asylum Seeker Consortium (SERASC) have now published their report "Mental Health, Destitution & Asylum Seekers: A Study of Destitute Asylum Seekers in the dispersal areas of the South East of England"

Refugee Council Report

The Refugee Council Health report published two weeks ago "First Do No Harm", denying healthcare to people whose asylum claims have failed, can be viewed here

They also have two conferences coming up: "Safe from Harm"? Health and social care for vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers. These events will take place in London on 1st November and in York on 7th November. For more information follow this link
