NSUN, the Afiya Trust and SPN will be receiving support from the Neurological Commissioning Support’s (NCS) Voluntary Sector Commissioning Support (VSCS) Programme. NCS will be providing 12 months mentoring to help us develop a better understanding of the commissioning environment, and creating sustainable frameworks for influencing positive practice, shared-decision making, and the use of qualitative data in commissioning decisions.

SPN are pleased to be a supporting partner to the Ethnic Health Iniative (EHI) in an upcoming conference ‘Social Perspectives in Mental Health: Transforming Social Experiences’.
The event, which will take place in London on 22nd April 2013, is focused on examining how social models of mental distress can contribute to the delivery of mental health services. The experience of people using services and issues relating to cultural diversity will be the central themes and the event will bring together a range of professionals to share good practice.

The National Involvement Partnership project is moving forward and beginning to take shape, the preliminary research is completed and more in depth consultation in pilot sites is ongoing by SPN coordinator Raza Griffiths. A new leadership programme for service users in pilot sites is being rolled out, starting in London, and NSUN have won 18 months' of mentoring by the Neurological Commissioning Support group.
